At the Annual General Meeting held on the 8th April 2026 Alan Stevens was elected President and his profile follows.
Alan was born on the 1stJanuary 1946 in Whetstone, North London. He then met his wife Sue, they married in 1969, have two sons and have lived happily in Ferndown for the last 12 years.
Alan did not demonstrate great skills as a scholar, so he left school aged 15. He then spent the first 6 years of working life in West End retail before joining HJ Heinz, firstly in Sales and latterly in Marketing. He then took the opportunity to move to Del Monte Foods, firstly as Marketing manager before being promoted to MD Northern Europe in 1990. Following the conclusion of a management buyout in 1993 Alan left Delmonte and spent the next 9 years enjoying a range of diverse roles including 4 years at Oxfam as Fair Trade Director and then 4 years as General manager of Hampshire Economic Partnership.
Alan retired from work in 2002 and has subsequently enjoyed a happy retirement, which has included many travel opportunities to revisit countries he was lucky enough to visit in his working life.
